People interviews: meet the Media team
Sofie Simonsson
Department Head, Gothenburg
What do you do at Precis?
My role differs a bit from many others since I’m a department head for one of our departments in GBG and not in an actual marketing team. That means that I’m responsible for orchestrating our resources, finances, people, upskilling and making it possible for everyone to do as good a job as possible in their client collaborations.
How does your day-to-day look like?
To be honest, not one day is alike. I do everything from holding 1:1 with my reportees, to sitting in client meetings, digging deep into Google sheet calculations to have an eye on margins, being a part of hiring processes and working as a part of local MGMT.
What do you appreciate most about your team?
I am part of three teams: our Data & Analytics Department, which operates across the entire organisation, our B2B Department, and our Digital Marketing teams in Denmark. This gives me a lot of variation, but also the freedom to prioritise the most impactful work at any given time. For this reason, I greatly appreciate being able to see how widespread the Precis spirit is across the organisation!
What do you like most about your role?
What I like the most in my role is seeing the bigger picture – and being able to help both our people, clients and company grow and to really feel like I have an impact in everything I do.
What I like the most is helping our people, clients and company grow.

Senior Digital Specialist, London
What do you like most about your role?
My Role as a Senior Digital Specialist gives me the opportunity to work at the tactical and strategic level, with some of the most engaging clients it has been a pleasure to work with them throughout my 24+ years in Digital. This is Precis in a nutshell, great clients, well-informed and professional colleagues and the space to challenge the accepted norms of digital. My area of expertise, SEM, has evolved through the year and Precis’s ways of working allow me, and the team around me to do amazing things.
Tell us about an exciting project you worked on recently
Recently we have been working on a client project, switching to profit-based bidding on Google Ads, this has been really interesting as this type of data is normally shared by clients. This use of value-based bidding strategies that are fed by profit and not revenue has opened up a whole new way of looking at their business for the client and has pushed the envelope towards growing real commercial success.
How would you describe your team’s culture in a few words?
Enthusiastic, caring, fun and professional… Simply one of the greatest teams I have worked with…
Does your team have any rituals, traditions, or activities that you particularly enjoy or find meaningful?
The team around me have a team social every quarter which is arranged by one of the team members at random, so because our team is so diverse and each time we have a team event it could be anything, from indoor funfairs to carting or a table tennis night, my particular favourite. These events are part of the glue that makes the team work so well together.

Does your team have any rituals, traditions, or activities that you particularly enjoy or find meaningful?
We have two bakers on the team including myself! We bake and bring the goodies to the office to share with everyone. So there will always be homemade cake or cookies at least twice a month at the office!
What do you appreciate most about your team?
That would have to be the communication. Whether it was constructive feedback or recognition, we always have each others’ best interests in mind and we help each other reach our goals.
