People interviews: meet the Creative team
Simon Wilms
Digital Creative/Motion Designer, Gothenburg
What do you do at Precis?
I’m a Motion Designer working in the Creative Hub, based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
What I like most about my role is the creative aspect, for sure. When I have a good song in my headphones while fine-tuning animation or static design, my job is at its finest. It’s a nice feeling when different components, such as motion, layout, music, sfx, etc, come together and create a visually appealing asset, (ad) tailored to a specific audience and channel placement. I also like that I’m constantly learning about new things from a wide range of subjects, necessary to be able to deliver high-quality concepts. This is very stimulating and is one of the reasons why I started working in advertising in the first place.
Tell us about an exciting project you worked on recently
I recently worked on a project where the client was open to use ai-generated image and audio assets for a creative concept.
It was the first time we incorporated ai-generated content to this extent, and it turned out really good!
There are of course limitations with ai, and it should be used wisely. The strength, from a creative perspective, is the ability to churn out creative assets fast, which otherwise would require a lot of time to create from scratch or to even find, online. When able to prompt (generate) the desired assets with ai, you can speed up both the ideation and production process and spend more time on the tasks that require a human brain (the most).
What do you appreciate most about your team?
I work cross-office, so you could say that I have 2 teams. I have one team in Gothenburg, who are my creative colleagues that sit right next to me at the office, and I also have another team in Stockholm, which I meet daily, online.
What I appreciate about both teams, and about Precis in general, is the respect for individual freedom.
You are able to decide for yourself, to a large extent, how you choose to do your work. This of course comes with a lot of responsibility – which I think is very important from both a career and individual growth perspective.
Amanda Fung
Senior Digital Producer, Stockholm
What do you like most about your role?
As a Digital Producer, I love that I get to interact with every discipline in the company. From Creative Strategists to Copywriters, I have the privilege of collaborating with a lot of people with different skill sets and expertise.
What do you appreciate most about your team?
Precis is a collective of diverse and progressive people who are dedicated to helping clients reach their goals through data-driven and thoughtful strategies. I love that they thrive on collaboration and finding that sweet spot between cool creative design and research-based methods.
How does your team celebrate achievements or milestones?
Precis has a monthly peer bonus program where exceptional people are nominated by their colleagues. This allows them to be recognised and celebrated across the company. It’s a fun way to spotlight those who go above and beyond by paying it forward through a surprise incentive.
How does your day-to-day look like?
My morning routine always consists of making myself an espresso while chatting with colleagues who happen to be in the kitchen. The social interactions offer an extra boost to the caffeine that kickstarts my day. Between facilitating meetings and replying to Slack messages and emails, I like to collaborate in-person with my team and try to sneak in the occasional fika pastry.
