Hi Paranjay!
What did you study?
I studied E-Business Management at the University of Warwick with courses within Business technology, Information system management, E-commerce, Digital marketing, Big data management and Supply chain integration. I graduated in 2019, the same year I started at Precis.
What do you do at Precis?
I work as a Digital Specialist within the digital marketing team in London, providing end-to-end digital marketing service from account management to implementation to analysis.
My role involves managing B2B & B2C paid search, paid social, YouTube and programmatic digital marketing activity for several clients, including continuous optimisation, analysis, and strategy, explicitly using Google ads, DV360, Facebook ads manager and LinkedIn ads manager.
What does a typical workday for you look like?
My workdays vary a lot, but here are some of my day-to-day typical work tasks:
- Monitoring and analysing the past and current performance of active marketing campaigns using GA, Google sheets and Data studio. This informs decision making to improve performance and any future strategic initiatives.
- Client interaction and management of the project as a whole. That includes account work that I am not directly managing but affects overall online investment performance.
- Identifying and implementing any platform or industry changes like Google betas and new product launches.
- Devising and implementing any short-term and long-term strategies like testing to improve campaign performance.
How has your development journey been since you joined?
When I joined Precis, I only had theoretical knowledge of digital marketing and all its aspects. Throughout my time at Precis, I have gained practical knowledge about the different aspects of digital marketing, including the different channels, their role within the marketing mix and the role of different technologies such as automated scripting and tracking on the management of marketing performance.
Since I first joined Precis, I have become an expert in some digital marketing channels, becoming a power user. I have participated in interviewing new prospective colleagues and participated in pitches for prospective clients. My time at Precis has given me experience in tasks and workflows that are not part of my core role.
What inspired you to join Precis?
When I was looking for a job after university, my main goals were to find a company that will develop my knowledge through learning and practical experience and help me progress as quickly as possible. Joining Precis in London gave me the best of two worlds, joining a relatively large organisation and a start-up at the same time. This gave me experiences of the hierarchy of working within a global organisation and the ability to work in multiple roles similar to how people usually work in startups.
Additionally, Precis’s ambition to grow to become the largest independent agency globally and their work within sustainability and marketing ethics also attracted me to the company.
What made you interested in digital marketing in the first place?
The digital economy is embedded in every corner of our lives, and it’s taking over more and more of our lives every day. Digital marketing offers a way into the digital world without necessarily having advanced technical skills such as programming. The digital economy and the way digital marketing combines creativity with tech and business fascinate me. Additionally, the ability to work with many different industries is what made me interested in digital marketing in the first place.
